Some techniques survive because nothing has improved on them. The diamond weave you can see in this scarf — visible to the naked eye, geometric and precise — was perfected by artisans during the Mughal era, when spinning cashmere to this fineness was considered one of the highest crafts. It still is.

At 120 × 120cm it is a Parisian neck scarf in cashmere. Knotted loosely at the collar. Tucked into a trench coat. The format that Frenchwomen have understood for decades — reimagined in a fibre that silk cannot match for softness and that most cashmere cannot match for fineness.
